How did you come up with the name Magnolia Road?

To be honest, I didn't put a 'ton' of thought into the name. I was just kind of going for something that sounded 'fancy' and 'upscale', like a bougie department store such as Neiman Marcus or Saks Fifth Avenue. I wanted 'luxury' to be a theme in my works because I craft my content with a lot of love, care, and detail. And magnolias are indeed one of my favorite flowers.

Why Petz 5?

My site was originally Petz 5 only but I have since added some content for Petz 4 as I do play both versions. However, I do strongly prefer making content for Petz 5 because I’m not constantly fighting the petz palette. That aside, I enjoy features like the day/night and weather cycles, mini-games, carrying cases that let you tote all the toys at once, and full-color playscenes and carrying cases. I launched this site to give Petz 5 some long-overdue love, since there’s less content for P5 compared to P4.

Are any of your petz/hexes available for trade?

Hopefully someday! I haven’t gotten around to it yet. The plan was a subsite (Pet Shop) for trades, but I’ve been bogged down with a backlog of other projects. Keep checking!

Some of your Petz 4 content show stray/odd pixels!

If you're using the updated PetzA with custom palettes, magenta is now rendered transparent, which can affect older content. Some of my Petz 4 content was created before I was aware of this change, and I’ll update them when possible. For reference, I use a 238-swapped base game palette (available here) that restores a non-transparent magenta to the game so that content displays as intended. Separately, colors 229–255 can display differently for individual users (this is a game quirk, not PetzA-specific). I try to account for this where possible, but DM me if anything looks off.

What graphic programs/tools do you use?

I use Photoshop for the majority of my work, but I use other programs for specific tasks. I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 (old but good!) because it has a built-in seamless tiling maker that makes creating textures, furs, and patterns easy. JPSP 8 also sometimes cooperates better with me when working with the Petz Palette. On occasion, I do draw things by hand with my pen stylus so I use Clip Studio Paint.

Does your content contain AI-generated graphics?

Some of my content may include AI-assisted assets mixed with handmade work, especially in playscenes. I respect that AI isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and am not offended if you’d prefer to avoid AI content. ❤ Since this is a casual hobby, I don’t remember every time AI was used, so I’m unable to label items individually. So this serves as a general site-wide disclosure, even though a significant portion of my content is AI-free.

What AI tools do you use?

The main ones I use are Gemini, ChatGPT, Grok, and Bing/Co-Pilot. Gemini has given me the best results and has been the most generous in its daily allowance for free users. Gemini is really good about making edits that line up pixel-for-pixel with my projects, which is essential for making playscenes where object placement needs to be exact. It is also excellent at replicating the 90s/early 2000s CGI aesthetic that Petz is known for. I also use Clip Drop's background remover to quickly cut out intricate objects like trees. However, it doesn't always create the sharpest edges, so there are many things I still have to cut out by hand.

How do I contact you?

I go by Rizu in the various Petz Discords. I may not always be active year-round, so replies can take time. Discord notifications can be unreliable, so feel free to message again if I miss you.
